Everyday Remote is an iPhone and iPad app from Coder’s Follies. This policy describes how the app handles information. This page will be updated if its practices change.
Data collection
Everyday Remote does not collect, track, sell, or send personal data to Coder’s Follies, analytics providers, or advertisers. The app does not create user accounts or use advertising or analytics SDKs.
Data stored on your device
The app stores saved TV details, names and room labels, favorites, display preferences, shortcut button assignments, and pairing status locally on your Apple device. It stores the private key used for TV pairing in the Apple Keychain.
The widget receives saved TV names, room labels, icons, and routing identifiers through an Apple App Group on the same device. The sharing extensions use saved TV and connection details, including TV addresses and public keys, to send a link to a selected TV. The pairing private key remains in Keychain and is not copied into shared preferences.
Local network and TV communication
Everyday Remote uses Local Network access to discover and communicate directly with compatible Android TV and Google TV devices. Pairing and remote commands are exchanged with the TV you select. Coder’s Follies does not receive those messages.
Text entered with the remote keyboard is sent to the selected TV. The app does not save or log that text. A streaming link you choose to share is sent to the selected TV with its content IDs, query parameters, and fragments. The app does not fetch the link to preview it. The TV and the destination app or service handle received text and links under their own privacy practices.
Other apps and websites
A streaming shortcut may open an installed app or provider website when you select its local launch action. Opening the Coder’s Follies website, support pages, or third-party links also leaves the app. Those services may receive normal web request information and have their own privacy practices.
Information you choose to include in a support request is separate from the app’s local remote traffic. Do not include pairing codes, passwords, private keys, personal information, or sensitive logs in a support request.
Your choices
You can remove saved TVs in the app. Removing one TV does not delete the shared pairing identity or other saved TVs. You can revoke Local Network access in iOS or iPadOS Settings, which stops discovery and remote control. Removing the app deletes its local app data according to Apple’s system behavior; Keychain items may remain. Device backups depend on your Apple settings.
